Peak Divide - Sheffield-Edale-Manchester - is 76KM (47 Miles)
This might sound like a big distance, and it is, but see it as just spending the day outdoors! Once broken down into stages it makes for a real challenge; a super step onto the next stage in your running.
Don’t expect to be running the whole 76KM - there are hills, or points where you will tire, and there is nothing wrong with walking sections; most people do.
That said, we do need you to maintain a pace throughout the day. We will have a CP at the breakfast cafe in Edale (35KM into the run), and will need you to reach there by 10:00 (6 hours).
So, to put the distances into perspective:
→if shuffling at the steadiest pace (5KPH) - you’ll be out for 15 hours, arriving into Manchester around 19:00.
→ if shifting at a quick-ish pace (7KPH) - you’ll be out for 11 hours, arriving into Manchester around 15:00-16:00→if you’re getting your foot down, and not slowing/stopping much (8-10KPH) - you’ll be out for 8-9 hours, arriving into Manchester around 14:00.
