Peak Divide Journey Fund

We want the Peak Divide to best reflect and represent UK society.

Our gender balance is already 50:50 and geographical spread is wide. However, in other keys areas of diversity and inclusion (ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and socio-economic background) we want - and need - to do more.

Our Journey Fund (JF) provides free entries for all under-represented groups, and is supported by Patagonia.

To date, we’ve successfully hosted 10 shufflers (typically 5-10% of the total PD convoy) at every event, working with two running groups: Black Trail Runners and Runderbolts.

In 2024, one of the PD CLASSIC JF runners was ultra-running novice Christina Oredeko:

“I knew and heard people, mostly white friends, talk about going to the Peak but I had no clue what was there really,” she said. “The views! I don’t think it would be a place that I would ever get tired of. I loved achieving more than I thought I could.”

Representation matters.

In 2025, we’re opening the Journey Fund up for other under-represented groups. If that’s you, please fill in the form below and get in touch.

Peak Divide Journey Fund Black Trail Runners

  • A leader on behalf of a run group/community that is keen to represent:

    -ethnicity
    -disability
    -sexual orientation
    -socio-economic background
    at Peak Divide.

    We will look to allocate 2-3 entries per group.

  • The Journey Fund provides:

    -free entries to Peak Divide events, to enable greater representation amongst our shuffler convoys.
    -pre-event support and access to kit pools for those new to trail running.
    -access to camping equipment for the overnight stay on the PD CLASSIC (two-day) events.

    The Journey Fund is not able to contribute towards any travel or additional costs.

  • There isn’t one!

    Patagonia UK are keen to support with event entries to boost reach and representation.

    All we ask is that you share your Peak Divide trail experience with others, and provide feedback on further improving the Journey Fund.
